In June 2019, Li Anderson was elected as the Minister of Education in Finland.
She was born in Turku in 1987. She was the Chair of the Youth Organization of the Left Alliance Party. Now she is the Member of the Finnish Parliament and the City Councilor of Turku. Ms. Anderson was first elected to Congress in 2015 and is currently serving a second term. She has been holding a variety of positions in civil society organizations and labor unions. She firmly advocates the protection of human rights, equality for all, social and ecological sustainability.
Ms. Anderson got a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences (International Law) from Åbo Akademi University which is the only comprehensive and exclusively Swedish language university in Finland.
