Introduction of BITE

  • 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS)will be held at China National Convention Center(Beijing)in early September. With the theme of "Global Services, Shared Prosperity", 2020 CIFTIS will be jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality. World Trade Organization(WTO), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development(UNCTAD) and Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) are its permanent supporting institutions. CIFTIS has been successfully held for six sessions and has attracted about one million visitors from nearly 200 countries and regions and nearly 10,000 exhibitors. The intended contract volume of more than $500 billion has been reached. CIFTIS, along with China International Import Expo(CIIE)and China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), has become one of the three major exhibition platforms for China's opening up that constitute an all-round opening up and cooperation promotion system for comprehensive development of Made in China" and "Services of China" in the new era, as well as the joint display of import potential and export advantages. The Central Government of China has attached great importance to the 2020 CIFTIS and has set up the Organizing Committee with Hu Chunhua, Vice Premier of the State Council as Chairman. The holding of 2020 CIFTIS will help people to strengthen the confidence for development under COVID-19 epidemic, advance the global trade in services development and economic growth. Beijing International Tourism Expo (hereinafter referred to as BITE) was initiated by Beijing Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau in 2004, and has been successfully held yearly for 16 consecutive years. Every year nearly a thousand exhibitors from more than 40 countries and regions and more than 20 domestic provinces/cities/autonomous regions participate in the exhibition. In addition, more than 300 hosted buyers from more than 40 countries and regions and all over China are invited to participate in the exhibition. During the exhibition, the organizing committee holds dozens of forums and featured promotional activities, and organized thousands of business matchmaking meetings which have reached a total of amount of intentional cooperation deal of hundreds of millions. BITE has become an Asia well-known and leading domestic comprehensive tourism exhibition, and set guiding and demonstration effects in internationalization development. BITE is also a highly marketized exhibition with remarkable public participation. In 2014, BITE was officially listed in the CIFTIS and became one of the featured sections of the CIFTIS. BITE 2020 will be held at the same date and venue as the CIFTIS. BITE2020 is under the theme of “Travel connects the world, Travel lights up the life”, with three core content: “Exhibition, Forum, Meeting” to be established in the vital function of tourism in boosting international exchanges and the development of service trade, and to build a high-quality platform for communication and consultation, and strive to promote international exchanges, service trade and tourism product promotion, in order to accomplish an important platform for world tourism service trade.
