The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) recently issued the 2020 Work Plan of the Industrial Internet Task Force (hereinafter referred to as the “Plan”), proposing to build 10 benchmark networks by the end of the year and promote the transformation and upgrading of industrial Internet intranet by 100 leading enterprises in key industries and 1,000 local backbone enterprises. It is predicted that the economic scale of Chinas industrial Internet industry would reach RMB 3.1 trillion in 2020, accounting for 2.9% of GDP.

This year marks the end of the three-year campaign for industrial Internet innovation and development. The Plan sets forth ten major tasks, including improving infrastructure capabilities, building industrial Internet platforms, breaking through core technology standards, and promoting policy implementation, with a total of 54 specific measures.

At present, the industrial Internet has penetrated and been applied to more than 30 key industries in the national economy, including construction machinery, steel, petrochemical, energy, transportation, and medical care. “New models such as intelligent production, networked collaboration, personalized customization, service-oriented extension, and digital management are active, giving a strong boost to transformation and upgrading and giving rise to new areas of growth.” said by a responsible person of the MIIT.

At present, the global economic and industrial landscape is undergoing profound changes. The pace of servitization of the manufacturing industry and the digitization of the service industry is accelerating, and the status of services in the global value chain is becoming more and more prominent. The 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services (hereinafter referred to as the “CIFTIS”) will be held at the China National Convention Center and surrounding venues in September, with the theme of "Global Services, Shared Prosperity”. A new exhibition mode of “1+8+N” has been established for the 2020 CIFTIS, including one selected exhibition, 8 feature exhibitions (Culture Services, Financial Services, Winter Sports, Tourism Services, Service Robots, Educational Services, Sports Services and 5G Communication Services), and N functional service areas around the exhibition venues.

As one of the eight feature exhibitions, the Service Robot Exhibition Area will set up sections such as smart logistics, smart business, smart home, smart health, etc., highlighting technology leadership and trend, interactivity and experience. For instance, the Intelligent Logistics Exhibition will display the applications of robots in the unmanned distribution field; introduce how the unmanned distribution reduces logistics costs, improves efficiency, saves energy, protects the environment and improves services; and display how the unmanned distribution creates a new pattern for the development of intelligent life and provides new driving force. In addition, the "Dynamic Scene of Smart Life" will be set up in the exhibition area, displaying a variety of products enabling for man-machine interaction, including four-legged robot dogs, table tennis robots, underwater robots, guiding robots and voice interactive robots. Through personal experience, the audience will recognize how convenient and surprising the life will be due to intelligent technology.
