As of June this year, the penetration rate of China's industrial e-commerce has reached 63%, and the penetration rate of innovation and entrepreneurship platform in key manufacturing industries has exceeded 84.2%.

At the press conference of the State Council Information Office held a few days ago, Xie Shaofeng, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Director of the Information Technology Development Department, said that China's informatization and industrialization have achieved remarkable results. In 2019, the scale of China's digital economy has exceeded 1/3 of the GDP. As of June this year, the penetration rate of enterprise digital R&D design tools and the numerical control rate of key processes reached 71.5% and 51.1%, respectively.

At present, China has more than 70 influential industrial Internet platforms, with more than 40 million industrial devices connected, more than 400,000 industrial enterprises served and more than 250,000 industrial apps. New models such as digital management, intelligent production, networked collaboration, personalized customization, and service-oriented extension have accelerated their penetration.

The 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services (“CIFTIS”) was take place on September 4-9 in Beijing. During the session, the Industrial Internet Summit Forum 2020 was held, with the theme of "Industrial Internet Empowers New Trade in Services”, which discussed how to drive the omni-directional, multi-domain, and in-depth integrated development of manufacturing and services with industrial Internet, so as to help optimize and upgrade the structure of China’s trade in services.

Wang Zhijun, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated at the forum that the industrial Internet was a product of the deep integration of the new generation of information technology and manufacturing, and it was also an effective starting point and an important carrier for deepening the integrated development of advanced manufacturing and modern service industries. The development of the industrial Internet was of great significance for stimulating the vitality of data elements, cultivating and expanding the digital economy, and promoting the upgrading of trade in services. In the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will seize the historical opportunity of the new generation of information technology revolution, implement the industrial Internet innovation and development strategy in depth, and support the high-quality development of trade in services: First, we will optimize the development environment driven by system; second, we will strengthen development momentum driven by innovation; third, we will deepen the integrated innovation driven by application; fourth, we will make the industrial ecology flourish through the synergy of opening-up.

Yin Yong, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and Deputy Mayor, stated in his speech that, as a national scientific and technological innovation center, Beijing regarded the industrial Internet as an important strategic decision to promote the transformation and development of the capital’s economy, vigorously cultivate the innovation and development ecology of the industrial Internet, and the development of Beijing's industrial Internet has entered a fast lane. First, the basic support capabilities continue to increase. For example, in terms of national-level top nodes identified by industrial Internet, Beijing has launched and has accessed to the secondary nodes in 17 industries, including the aerospace, automotive, and energy industries, with the registered number of identifications leading in China. Second, the level of platform empowerment has been significantly improved. For example, BONC, yonyou, and CASICloud, were selected as the “Top Ten Cross-Industry and Cross-Field Industrial Internet Platforms of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2019”, serving nearly 2 million companies. Third, the ecology of innovative development is improving gradually. For example, Shunyi District, Haidian District, Chaoyang District and Shijingshan District in Beijing were jointly selected as the “National Demonstration Base for Innovation of New Industrialization Industry in the Field of Industrial Internet”.

Mei Hong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, expressed at the forum that the industrial Internet was the cornerstone of the industrial revolution. The in-depth integration of a new generation of information technology and production technology, the interconnection of man-machines, all elements, the entire industry chain, and the entire value chain will promote the formation of a new industrial manufacturing and service system. In developing the industrial Internet, we should not follow the old paths, such as burning money, gaining popularity and generating traffic. Instead, we should adopt new ideas. The winner would take all for the consumer Internet, but the industrial Internet must be divided by field and industry, and the implementation subjects are also diversified. The core technologies of the industrial Internet still need breakthroughs, such as new domain-specific operating systems. To develop the industrial Internet, we should be nimble, steady and effective.
