  I.    Daily cleaning and disinfection of refrigerators and freezers

  (I)   Refrigeration compartment

  After the contents of the refrigeration compartment are emptied and the power is cut off, the inner surface can be disinfected by wiping with 1,000~2,000mg /L quaternary ammonium salt disinfectant for 30 minutes and then cleaned with fresh water, or by wiping twice with 75% alcohol. The outer surface can be disinfected by wiping with 500mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant for 30 minutes and then cleaned with fresh water.

  (II)  Freezer compartment and freezer

  After the contents of the freezer compartment and freezer are emptied, the power is cut off and the refrigerator and freezer are restored to room temperature, and after the water in the refrigerator and freezer is dried, the inner surface can be disinfected by wiping with 1,000~2,000mg /L quaternary ammonium salt disinfectant for 30 minutes and then cleaned with fresh water, or by wiping twice with 75% alcohol. The outer surface can be disinfected by wiping with 500mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant for 30 minutes and then cleaned with fresh water.

  II.   Refrigerators and freezers that have stored suspected contaminated food and raw materials

  (I)   Suspected food and raw materials

  1.    Food and raw materials in sealed packages

  The outer packaging of food and raw materials shall be sprayed with or soaked in chlorine-containing disinfectant with an effective chlorine content of 1,000 mg/L, and then disposed of in a trash bin in accordance with the regulations on domestic waste classification.

  2.    Food and raw materials without sealed packages

  The food and raw materials shall be steamed or boiled for 30 minutes, the outer packaging shall be sprayed with or soaked in chlorine-containing disinfectant with an effective chlorine content of 1,000 mg/L, and then disposed of in a trash bin in accordance with the regulations on domestic waste classification.

  (II)  Refrigerators and freezers

  After the contents of the refrigerator and freezer are emptied, the power is cut off and the refrigerator and freezer are restored to room temperature, and after the water in the refrigerator and freezer is dried, the inner surface can be disinfected by wiping with 2,000mg /L quaternary ammonium salt disinfectant for 30 minutes and then cleaned with fresh water, or by wiping twice with 75% alcohol. The outer surface can be disinfected by wiping with 1000mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant for 30 minutes and then cleaned with fresh water.

  (III) Other food in the refrigerator

  1.    For food with a sealed outer packaging, the packaging can be removed and replaced with other containers; the outer packaging shall be sprayed with or soaked in chlorine-containing disinfectant with an effective chlorine content of 1,000 mg/L, and then disposed of in a trash bin in accordance with the regulations on domestic waste classification.

  2.    Food without outer packaging can be cooked or boiled for 30 minutes before eating. Food that cannot be cooked or boiled for 30 minutes for disinfection should be sprayed with or soaked in chlorine-containing disinfectant with an effective chlorine content of 1,000mg/L, and then be disposed of in a trash bin in accordance with the regulations on domestic waste classification.

  III.   Surfaces and articles that may be touched during food and raw material handling

  1.    The kitchen floor, wall, desktop and other environmental surfaces can be disinfected by wiping with 500~1,000mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant for 30 minutes and then cleaned with fresh water.

  2.   Cutting boards, knives, forks, tableware and other cooking utensils can be disinfected by heating for 30 minutes, or soaked in 500~1,000mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant for 30 minutes, and then rinsed with fresh water and dried.

  3.    Rags and mops shall be fully soaked in 1,000mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant for 30 minutes, and then rinsed with water, dried for storage. These items shall be kept and used separately to avoid cross-infection.

  4.    The garbage shall be sprayed with 1,000mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant and sealed and cleaned, and the trash can shall be fully sprayed with 1,000mg/L chlorine-containing disinfectant for disinfection for 30 minutes, and then rinsed with fresh water and dried.

  IV.   Precautions

  1.    When disinfecting the refrigerator and freezer, please read the product instruction carefully in advance to prevent damage to the refrigerator and freezer during the disinfection process.

  2.    In the process of transferring food, pay attention to hand hygiene. Even if you wear gloves, you should remove the gloves and wash your hands with hand sanitizer under running water timely to avoid cross-contamination.

  3.    During the disinfection process, attention should be paid to avoiding the residue of disinfectant.

  4.    Disinfectants are toxic and irritating, so personal protection should be used when preparing and using them, including masks, hats, gloves and protective clothing. At the same time, the disinfectant is corrosive. Wipe the items with clean water after reaching the disinfection time to prevent damage to the disinfected items.

  5.    When using other disinfectants for disinfection, carefully read the disinfection product instructions before use, and use them in strict accordance with the scope and method of use, concentration, and time of action specified in the instructions.

  6.    The disinfectant used should be within the validity period, and the disinfectant must be prepared for immediate use.
